Tourism: Dubai kick-starts 2017 W/Africa Roadshow in Lagos, offers Innovations

-Dubai Tourism continues to drive sustained engagement with West Africa through its 2017 travel roadshow

Vision, innovation and consistency have been fingered by several success experts as vital attributes that drive continuous success.

Riding on these, the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) continued its sustained effort to engage the West African travel market, andatqnews-com-dubai specifically Nigeria, with the flag-off of the 2017 edition of its roadshow in West Africa at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos on Monday 20th February.

Dubai Tourism roadshow seeks to present diverse range of Dubai products and industry sectors to the African travel professionals. It is a platform for Dubai Tourism to provide tips and ideas to improve sales and traffic to Dubai.

This year’s roadshow showcased 12 companies from Dubai marketing and engaging the travel trade practitioners and stakeholders in Nigeria. They include Emirates, Arabian Falcon Holidays, Red Apple Travel, Dubai Parks and Resorts, Hyatt Regency Dubai, North Tours, Prime Hospital, Dubai College of Tourism, Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Grand Hyatt Dubai, Nikki Beach and General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs – Dubai.

Mr. Omar Abdulaziz Khan, Director International Offices of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry anchored his presentation on the innovations that Dubai is engaging to impact businesses and leisure services.

It also revealed the investments that Dubai is making in Africa and Nigeria as the biggest economy in Africa.

Mr. Ricky Kanani, Managing Director, North Tours revealed that his company has been in operation for since 2002; and in his usual witty and excited approach to his presentation introduced the services his company offers which range from all-round tour packaging to cruses, Yacht services and several others. He was with Dennis Gathitu, Regional Head Africa.
Halip Hatip, Head Africa Sales at Dubai Parks and Resort (DPR) represented his organization and was supported by Chiamaka Ifediora. Mr. Halip shed light on the three theme parks and a resort which makes up the DPR.

atqnews-com-dubaiCynthia Mbauya, Event Sales Manager, Hyatt Regency also made presentations on their services and facilities.

The newest hotel facility in Dubai, the Nikki Beach also was properly represented and made a remarkable presentation. Nikki Beach opened in December in Dubai. All the others companies also made presentations.

“Dubai continues to drive innovations after innovations in order to keep our visitors and tourists excited and ever expectant”, Mr. Omar says. “Dubai ensures that before one excitement goes out, it adds another so that the excitement and appeal never ceases”, he concluded.

“In Dubai Tourism, we keep trying to educate the market as much as possible,” says Stella Obinwa, Director Africa Region International Operations for DTCM.

“We have brought all these companies together to create opportunities to engage with them and to answer questions which they have answers to”.

Stella also revealed that that for this year, Dubai Tourism is engaging setup meetings with individual stakeholders to meet the companies representatives from Dubai as an effort to relate with and establish useful business connections and and to be able to address individual stakeholders needs specifically for it.

Free tickets for airlines, tours and flights were given by all the participating companies to travel agents via raffle draw.

The travel roadshow train would move to Abuja on Wednesday and conclude in Accra, Ghana on Saturday.

    its good to see that dubai is evolving more as a tourist spot for all the regions in world. This effort is surely going to open new ways of tourism for dubai and the local economy as the travelers are really crazy about the adventure and fun they can have in dubai, especially for the famous dubai desert safari, so looking forward for more countries to sign the mou for the dubai.
