Mrs. Susan Akporiaye : African Travel 100 Women Winner
Mrs. Susan Akporiaye was born on September 5, 1977 to Mr. and Mrs. Onwionoko. She hails from Oron local government area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. She started and completed her primary and secondary education in Lagos State and proceeded to Cross River State, where she undertook her tertiary education and graduated as a Microbiologist in 1999.
She worked briefly with Luxury Travels in 2003 and proceeded to start Topaz Travels and Tours Limited in August 2004. A Microbiologist turned Travel Consultant, has since acquired various travels and tourism certifications amongst Certificate programmes in ticketing, reservations and tourism as well as undertaken several IATA courses.
Her passion and love for the travel and tourism industry over the years, with well over a decade experience in the industry, has led to her selfless service towards the development of the industry at large and of the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA). She served in the capacity as the Abuja zonal president for 4 years (2007 – 2011).
Following her many accomplishments at the zonal level, she rose to the office of the 1st National Deputy President of NANTA in which she is currently serving.
