Africa: Ghana at 60 film Group invited to US film festivals

The Film Directors Guild of Ghana, FDGG, has been invited by some film producers in New Jersey, USA to discuss long term collaboration for the production of movies for mutual benefits and development of Ghana and New Jersey. This is as result of the successful outcome of the “Ghana 60 years on Film Summit” held on 27th July 201.

According to the Director, Communications, Daniel Fiifi Jayden “We are very honoured to inform you that one of the successful outcome of the “Ghana 60 Years On Film Summit” has been engaged. Due to the success of the Film Summit held on 27th July 2017, the Film Directors Guild of Ghana, FDGG, has been invited, by some film Producers in New Jersey, USA, to discuss a long term collaboration for the production of movies for mutual benefits and development of Ghana and New Jersey.

“To honour the Honourable invitation, the Board of Directors of FDGG have sent the Greater Accra Regional Director of FDGG, Mr. Haruna Seidu Soale, a.k.a ®Zoree, to the US yesterday 7th September 2017, to that effect. The visit will last for 2 weeks.

“On his way to the US, Mr. Soale will pass France to hold a meeting with some French film Producers who are interested in doing a documentary film on the “Genesis of Kumawood”. In addition to that, Mr. Haruna Seidu Soale will be meeting with other production companies and Studios, in Washington DC, to also negotiate choosing Ghana as a preferred location for filming and also for collaboration.

“Mr. Soale was in Chandigarh, India, last two years with the National President of Film Directors Guild of Ghana, Mr. Richard J. A. Boateng, to sign an MOU for collaboration and choosing Ghana as a preferred location for filming.

Mr. Soale will also be attending Film Festival in New Jersey. One of the movies he managed as a Production Manager, which was produced by Mr. Prince Richard, a Ghana based Nigerian film Producer, has been nominated in the Film Festival.
