Aviation: ARIK Airlines scoops M.I.C.E. West Africa Airlines Award for Events
ARIK AIRLINES of Nigeria has won the M.I.C.E. West Africa Airlines Award for the Category of West African airline most supportive of Events and Exhibitions in the region.
This award was presented to ARik Airlines in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja Nigeria at the Abuja Jabamah on the under the distinguished presence of Otunba Segun Runsewe, DG, Nigeria Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC); Alhaji Idi Hong, former Minister of Tourism Nigeria; Charity Githinji, Managing Director of Tandaza Africa, Tanzania among several other distinguished Very Important Guests.
MICE AWARDS WEST AFRICA is the first MICE Awards ever in West Africa to be given to the Champions of the concept in the Region.
MICE is the lowest hanging Tourism fruit for Nigeria and West Africa.
Arik Air, founded in 2002 commenced operations on the 30th October 2006, is a Nigerian airline operating mainly from two hubs at Murtala Muhammed International Airport near Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. Arik Air’s head office is the Arik Air Aviation Center on the grounds of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja.

Within the last eight months the airline’s operations has changed for good as flights now depart on schedule without delay. For instance, flights scheduled for say 10:00 a.m calls for boarding at 9:27 or 9.28 and completed boarding at about 9:50.
The flights will then take off at about 10:05 a.m., which is quite remarkable. Arik Air with the current changes happening is gradually rising again to take its position as the most preferred airline in the West African region.
