Aviation: Air Peace pledges to partner with organisers of Bantaba, Accra Weizo
The management of Air Peace has pledged to partner with the organisers of Port-Harcourt Bantaba and Accra Weizo to grow the events.
This was disclosed by the managing director of Air Peace, Barrister Allen Onyema on Thursday, March 16 at the Port Harcourt Bantata event held at the De Edge Hotel Resort while receiving the aviation man of the year award for his contribution to the growth of aviation industry in Nigeria.
Onyema who was represented by the corporate communications manager of Air Peace Ltd, Mr. Chris Iwara retreated the preparedness of the airlines to commence Guangzhou China flight from Enugu from where the airline will be operating the flight from.
He disclosed that the airline has plans in the offing to bring in about three B-777 aircraft to commence flight operations to Guangzhou-China, Dubai, Mumbai and other routes when such arrangements are concluded.
Onyema said Air Peace has commenced two flights to Accra, Ghana on Friday, morning and evening flight which is in addition to the daily flights to Accra.
Responding to the question on the ownership of Air Peace which a lot of people link to Mama Peace, Onyema explained that Air Peace predates the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan, stressing that the airline is sorely owned by him.
Onyema said the name came from his Foundation for Ethnic Harmony in Nigeria, FEHN, aimed at promoting peace in the country especially in the Niger Delta area.
He stated that the airline came about as a result of his desire to rehabilitate restive youths who have decided to give up arms and embrace peace by providing employment opportunities for them.
I made investigation and found out that one aircraft can provide about 200 jobs, that was why I decided to invest in the airline business to provide jobs, Onyema said.
